Spatial Data Management
Spatial data deriving from strategic land and resource planning processes supports many business functions of ILMB, Ministry of Agriculture and Lands (MAL), Ministry of Forests, other government agencies, and various external stakeholders. In 2007, the Strategic Land Policy and Legislation Branch (SLPLB) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands agreed to assume the custodial responsibility for this data. With support from the ILMB lead FRPA/FSP Data Accessibility project, a cross-ministry project team was brought together to resolve longstanding data access and management issues and shepherd the migration of five new or updated SLRP data layers into the provincial Land and Resource Data Warehouse (LRDW). The five SLRP layers available in the LRDW are:
- SLRP boundaries (Eg. LRMPs, SRMPs, RLUPs, new plans)
- Landscape Units
- Legal and non-legal Old Growth Management Areas(OGMA)
- (Coming Soon – Sept 08!) Non-legal SLRP zoning designation polygons (Eg. RMZs)
- (Coming Soon – Sept 08!) Land Use Objective Regulation and other legal order polygons
