Sea-to-Sky Land and Resource Management Plan

Floodplain Management Plan

The large floodplains and wetlands associated with the Elaho, Green, Lillooet, Soo, and Squamish Rivers have been identified as being among the most biologically diverse and wildlife rich habitats in Sea-to-Sky Plan Area. A Floodplain Management Plan is being developed to address the unique and diverse values associated with these areas, in consultation with First Nations and stakeholders. The Sea-to-Sky Floodplain Management Plan identifies management objectives and strategies for the protection and conservation of moose winter range, grizzly bear forage habitat, bald eagle over-wintering habitat, fish habitat, rare plants and plant communities and general biodiversity values.

Status (11 April 2008): The Floodplain Management Plan is currently being reviewed by government agencies and First Nations.
