What is the Crown Land Registry?

The Crown Land Registry is a database of Crown land records for the province of British Columbia, Canada, maintained since the Hudson's Bay Company first began surveying land in British Columbia in the 1850s. At one time, large old hardcopy registers were used to record this information. In the 1980s, these land records were computerized and in the 1990s, a web accessible computer interface was created. For more information about Crown Land, please see the Crown Land Registry site.
