Integrated Land and Resource Registry

Training and Reference Material

Our vision is a spatially enabled, efficient and accessible electronic register of all legal interests in Crown and private land and resources, which serves the business needs of a diversity of users and clients.

This page has ILRR related resources: reference and training materials as well as demonstrations that can be accessed by users to increase their knowledge and understanding of the ILRR.

Training Material

  • Web-based Help
  • ILRR Overview and Training Manual [PDF]
  • ILRR Multimedia Training for Public (Guest) and External (Industry) Users with a BCeID and government users:
    • Public (Guest) Users are limited to using the ILRR map viewer. The help button on the map viewer itself only provides the generic map viewer online help; therefore it is recommended that you view the ILRR Web module as well as the Web-based Training specific to the ILRR map viewer.
    • External (Industry) and Government Users (Known Users). There is extensive Web-based Training available from the login page or through the help button within the ILRR application Main page. There are six main modules, each divided into smaller units that you can go directly to the area you are interested in. The six modules are:
      • Overview of the ILRR
      • Map Inquiry
      • Query Interest Record
      • Custom Status Query
      • Map Viewer
      • Save Queries and Notification

Reference Material

Reference Guides - short guides providing an overview of information in the ILRR and its functionality including:

Glossary and Definitions -provides a description of the terms and acronyms used in the ILRR.

Registered ILRR Interests - an alphabetical listing of all current interested registered in the ILRR.

User Guides - provides information on known problems or functionality limitations such as query limits caused by software constraints (e.g. map viewer software restricts the maximum query size to 100,000 hectares).

ILRR Metadata - the ILRR uses the ministry standard Discover Service to provide metadata information on ILRR contents. The Service contains the following information on each type of record in the ILRR: description, custodian, date of data, update cycle, purpose (intended use) and presentation form.

The Internet Mapping Help and Tutorial System [PDF] will show you how to use interactive, Internet-based maps. After this tutorial you should be able to understand and navigate ministry maps successfully; even if you have no prior knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which stores geographic spatial features associated with a particular place on the earth.

Research Documents - a collection of ILRR project background documentation:
