Delays in FTA Data acquisition - VALIDATING DATA COMPLETENESS

  • On May 7th an error was found in the backlog processing that prevented FTA spatial (geometry/polygons) from acquiring correctly. The problem has been identified and fixed, ACQUISITION INCLUDING GEOMETRY HAS RESUMED.
  • ProgressThe estimate for completion of backlog processing had to be revised significantly due to the complexity of the spatial data. ESTIMATES PREDICTED BACKLOG ELIMINATION AS LATE AS OCTOBER.
  • A temporary parallel processing mechanism was implemented on July 14th. This has had a very positive effect, yielding expectations that the backlog wOULD be eliminated much earlier.
  • As of August 18th the processing of the FTA backlog was complete and we moved into an auditing and validation phase. During this phase and perhaps for a duration beyond, expect the latency between FTA source data updates and ILRR presentation to be 1-3 business days.
  • CAUTION is still warranted however, a significant number of FTA records exist without geometry. These are believed to be legitimate, however to ensure Registry integrity we are validating all of these records. (to date, 37% have been validated with a 0.04% discrepancy rate). Note: these records are of a nature that their lack of geometry should not impact the typical ILRR user, for example many FTA interests are volume based as opposed to area based.
