Overview
The Air Photo & Digital Imagery section maintains two types of technical data on its FTP site for the benefit of expert client users:

Air photo centre files
- Camera calibration reports
Air Photo Centre Files
Since 1993, air photo contractors have been required to submit GPS referenced photo centre (latitude, longitude, elevation) coordinates as a digital file (ASCII format). Crown Registry and Geographic Base Branch has made these available to all clients from the MSRM anonymous FTP site (Note: you will need to know the operation number). Files are also available for the years 1991 and 1992 (note that photocentres are not GPS referenced for these two years)
- Connect to the FTP site by clicking here
- Select the year directory (e.g., 1999)
- Select the operation number (e.g., b005fi99.dat)
- Download the file

Camera Calibration Reports
In response to numerous request from clients, Base Mapping and Geomatic Services Branch has scanned all available camera calibration reports and made them available to clients at no charge from the MSRM anonymous FTP site. Most of the files are in TIF; recent ones are in PDF.
- Connect to the ftp site for camera calibration reports by clicking here
- Locate the roll and frame number range you are looking for (e.g., roll 15BC79058, frame range of 1-41) from the cam_cal_lookup*.txt file
- Make note of the lens number (e.g., 110409)
- Select the directory for the lens number (e.g., 110409) from the directory for the lens number (e.g., 110409)
- Select the year directory (for 15BCB79058, it would be the 1967 directory as this is the closest previous year of calibration to the year of the photo, in this case 1979, the 1981 calibration report would not be used) from the year directory, you will see the files with the scanned reports (e.g., 110409-67-p1.tif, 110409-67-p2.tif, 110409-67-p3.tif)
- Download the TIF or PDF files to view or print
Please note that calibration reports (based on the camera lens number) are currently only available online for roll numbers up to the year 2003.
