Air Photo Hard Copy Black and white aerial photography is available for all of British Columbia at a variety of scales and, in some areas, dating back more than fifty years. Gridded DEMs This product is a regularly gridded Digital Elevation Model data set for the Province of British Columbia, derived from breaklines, areas and mass points. The grid spacing is 25 metres and is created from the 1:20,000 scale Terrain Resource Information Management (TRIM) Digital Elevation Model (DEM).  Read more >> Search and order using the Base Map Online Store >>

Hillshade Hillshade - TRIM products are a derivation of the BC gridded Digital Elevation Model (BC DEM) consisting of eight distinct raster products, presented in two different common planar projections, in file formats appropriate to the file content. The elevation grid is derived from a Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) built from Terrain Resource Information Management (TRIM) mass-points, breaklines, slope, and aspect. The BC DEM files use the National Topographic System (NTS) at 1:250 000 scale (250K blocks) as a delivery basis and have a grid spacing of 25 metres.  Read more >> Search and order using the Base Map Online Store >>

Satellite Imagery Satellite imagery are photographs of Earth or other planets made from artificial satellites. Satellites orbiting Earth have an orbit, elevation and time intervals to cover the globe and image the same area. Examples of these satellites are Landsat, SPOT, IKONOS, Quick Bird and IRS. Active satellites record reflected radiations which the sensors will send to earth surface. Program Areas

Air Photo and Lab Services is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Provincial Air Photo Acquisition Program, producing digital and hard copy products and maintaining the Air Photo Warehouse.

The Provincial Baseline Atlas supports and distributes orthophotos, orthophoto mosaics, AT scans, hillshades and gridded DEMs.
