The name for this creek had not been provided in the Land Ownership & Occupancy Study conducted in 1982-83. Upon recent enquiry, a Gingolx [Kincolith] source obtained from their community the name Ksgyukwsa'a. He was unable to provide a definite meaning, however, looking at the word and taking into consideration the nature or environment of the place - referring to a creek/water [and] possible fish/salmon resources here, it could be determined from the semantics of the word that the name is derived from an "(abundant) salmon resource seen jumping in the creek: "Ks" derived from the morpheme "Ksi' meaning in this context "(water flowing) out from"; "gyukws" in reference to fish/salmon, meaning "to jump"; [hence] "gyukwsa'a" meaning "jumping". This creek, apparently, belonged to Ligiweemiks from the House of Gwiix Maaw, from Gitwinksilhkw.
